St David's Day 2007/ Dydd Gwyl Dewi |
Luckily this year's St David's Day was not delayed by the snow. It was a week full of events and sharing activities. This year we had a Welsh Week in the build up to St David's Day. Mrs Morris led a bilingual assembly on Monday that talked about famous people who spoke Welsh. She introduced us to a new term - Cymraeg Cool and all classes took part in competitions to see who could win the Cymraeg Cool stickers everyday.
Rev Hall, Chair of Governors, Mr White, Art Lecturer and Mr Alun Jones, Headteacher of Ysgol Llwyn Derw were all involved in presenting the results of their adjudications. |

Despite the postponement , everyone made a huge effort to dress in national costumes ans so ensured the day had a truly "Welsh" flavour. Year 3-6 were treated to a morning of Dawnsio Gwerin when Mr Huw Johns came to lead the dancing - Great fun was had by all. At the beginning of the day we were given the results of the Art competition as well as the "Biggest Leek"! At the end of the day, we chaired our Year 2 and Year 6 Bards. Diwrnod bendigedig Diolch i bawb
