The Parkland Rugby Team is run by Mr Daniel Jones. Training for years 5 & 6 is after school on Tuesdays.This is proving very popular with over 30 children attending training every week.

Mr Bebb, one of our parents, coaches these sessions ( Thank you, Mr Bebb).

The team played well in an Urdd tournament at the Elba. We beat Newton, drew with a Neath team and lost to Pontardulais.

The Parkland Primary Footballers played their first cup game against Pontlliw. It was a great game, dominated by one particular player for the opposition (reminded me of Franz Beckenbauer, he was all over the pitch!). We  went 1-0 up, conceded the equaliser midway through the second half. It was end to end stuff after that. Pontlliw edged in front with 3 minutes to go, then scored a flattering (and annoying) third right at the end as we pushed for the equaliser.

In an indoor tournament at Cwmdu, we played very well and enjoyed a lot of success. Playing six games, we won five games and drew one, winning the tournament outright. We scored 25 goals and conceded only two. The next round (19th March 20090) was much tougher. We won three games, drew 2 and lost 2. We scored a creditable 18 goals and only conceded 6.
