Year 1 2008/2009

 

Autumn Term

 

In Year 1 our theme was 'Ourselves' for the first half term.

In Year 1 we have been learning about christenings. We visited Holy Trinity Church in Sketty Park, where we took part in a Mock Christening.

During the second half term our theme was 'Toys'. We visited Swansea Museum to find out about old toys.

Spring Term 2009

 

Our theme this term is 'New Life'.

 

 

Every Tuesday we have outdoor learning. This term we have been busy planting beans, painting, drawing and practising our Jolly Phonics sounds.

St. David's Day

 

As part of our St. David's Day celebrations we all painted a daffodil.

National Botanic Gardens

 

On Tuesday 3rd March we visited the Botanic Gardens. We explored the glasshouse and watched a film about how plants grow. We had a fantastic time despite the wet weather!

World Book Day

 

Year 1 dressed up as bears to celebrate World Book Day 2009. Our book of the week was 'Mr Bear's New Baby'.
